清华x-lab知识产权中心系列讲座——
知识产权环境下企业的成功之道——从小做大
各位清华x-lab创业者、清华师生、校友们：
x-lab知识产权中心本期邀请到王亮迪博士和张劼先生与大家分享知识产权实务经验并做主题为“知识产权环境下企业的成功之道——从小做大”的研讨。
本次研讨会的议题主要围绕IT和新能源领域展开，以IT和新能源产业的领军者百度、谷歌、尚德太阳能和微软的成功经验为例进行探究。通过本次研讨会，将对于现代企业如何将知识产权与其他公司和战略工具相结合协同促进企业发展这一命题进行透析。讲座将着眼于上述企业在起步阶段的决策以及这些决策如何引领这些企业走向如今的商业成就。
建议x-lab的创业者们，尤其是IT领域的创业者参与此次研讨会，并藉此学习企业起步时期的知识产权环境意义何在，如何适应此时的知识产权环境以及随着企业的发展和成长阶段的不同如何调整知识产权策略。此次研讨会还将针对性地对小企业的知识产权困惑进行解答，包括但不限于知识产权对商业成功有多大必要？知识产权是不是注册越多越好？是不是越强的知识产权保护越好？

主讲嘉宾简介：
王亮迪(Dr. Victoria Wang)
王亮迪博士担任Victoria Wang咨询的CEO，曾任知识产权资本集团有限公司的CEO, 是知识产权战略和产业政策专家。王博士多年为联合国气候变化谈判提供国际知识产权政策和产业创新政策专业咨询。她还曾为中国最受尊重高科技企业提供海外知识产权战略、品牌战略。新能源和互联网是她工作的重点技术领域。从2005年至2011年她担任英国知识产权研究所的中国研究主任。从2010年至今，王博士担任清华大学客座讲师，讲授EMBA知识产权战略课程。同时，她是X-Lab的辅导导师，并且是x-Lab知识产权中心的咨询委员会委员。她还是知识产权权威国际期刊《IAM》的特邀主题专栏作家。王亮迪博士在中国、美国、英国取得法学专业学位，在中国和美国取得律师执业资格。
张劼(Mr. Parker Zhang)
张劼先生现任百度专利事务部总监。在加入百度之前，张先生在惠普公司的美国加州总部任知识产权顾问，为惠普研究院、惠普中国实验室等部门创造、维护、并发展全 球知识产权资产。在加入惠普前，张先生在Fenwick & West LLP，一家总部在美国加州硅谷的高科技律师事务所任知识产权律师，为包括Google、Cisco等高科技公司提供知识产权法律服务。在做律师之前，在Micro strategy, Inc.，一家美国Washington DC地区的高科技公司任软件架构工程师。张先生目前是X-Lab的辅导导师，并且是x-Lab知识产权中心的咨询委员会委员。张先生在美国密歇根大学安娜堡分校获法学博士，在美国德克萨斯大学奥斯汀分校获计算机科学硕士，在北京大学获计算机科学学士，有美国加州律师执业资格，和美国专利代理律师执业资格。

Dear x-lab entrepreneurs and Tsinghua students and alumni,
The x-lab Intellectual Property Center is pleased to invite Dr. Victoria Wang and Mr. Parker Zhang to share from their vast experience and talk about how successful enterprises adapt to the intellectual property environment – starting small and making it BIG.
The seminar will focus on the IT and new energy sectors and review of industry leaders as Baidu, Google, Suntech and Microsoft. The purpose of this IP seminar is to show how successful companies today use IP holistically with other corporate and strategic tools, rather than as a stand-alone instrument. The talk will focus both on the early days of these companies, when they were small start-ups and their decisions leading to commercial success. X-lab entrepreneurs, especially in the IT sector, are encouraged to come and learn-what is means to be a small start-up in a certain IP environment, how to adapt to it, how the IP policy and attitude changes over time and more. The seminar will deal with the basic dilemmas of small businesses: Is IP needed for commercial success? Is registering more IP better? Is a stronger IP protection better? Etc.
Dr. Victoria Wang: Dr. Wang currently serves as the CEO of Victoria Wang Consulting. She previously served as the CEO of the IP Capital Group Ltd. – providing expert advice on intellectual property and industrial innovation policy, as well consulting the UN on the climate change negotiations. She is considered the most respected intellectual property and brand strategist in China for international high-tech companies. Her work focuses on Internet and New Energy technologies. From 2005-2011 Dr. Wang served as a director of the British Institute of Chinese Studies of Intellectual Property. From 2010 to date, she serves as a guest lecture of Tsinghua EMBA courses in intellectual property strategy, counsels x-lab entrepreneurs and is a member of the x-lab IP Center Advisory Board. Dr. Wang holds degrees in law in China, the US and the UK. She is licensed to practice law in the US and China.
Mr. Parker Zhang: Mr. Zhang is the Chief Patent Counsel for Baidu, the largest Chinese Internet search engine and web site company. He has led, managed and implemented worldwide corporate patent strategy, including counselling the board of directors and senior executive management on the creation, maintenance and utilization of global patent assets as a strategic business tool to support achieving corporate objectives in the highly competitive Internet market. He previously worked as corporate counsel with Hewlett Packard in Palo Alto in the US, and holds a BA in Computer Science from Peking University, an MS in Computer Science from the University of Texas and a JD from the University Michigan Law School.
