Head of Strategic Planning at BBDO Beijing | Innovation & Design Strategist

  

Joe helps businesses thrive at the intersection of brand strategy, innovation, and human-centered design. Joe bridges these disciplines through his extensive first-hand understanding of cultures in developed and developing markets and his expertise in integrated marketing and innovation strategy.
Joe currently leads strategic planning at BBDO Beijing, handling Mercedes-Benz, Mars, HP, Bayer Healthcare, and Mengniu. 
As VP Global Planning Director at Energy BBDO, Joe led global strategic planning for Bayer Consumer Care, working with marketing and innovation clients in Asia, Europe, and the Americas. During this time, Joe taught coursework in innovation and design methods as an adjunct professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Prior to his role at Energy BBDO, Joe led strategic planning efforts for clients in FMCG, Automotive, and Financial Services. 
Joe holds a Master of Design Methods degree from the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with Research Honors from Illinois Wesleyan University. He is active in the arts, performing as a jazz and classical musician.
