2018年12月6日，被誉为最富远见的国际投资家吉姆·罗杰斯（Jim Rogers）先生受邀走访清华x-lab，与清华x-lab主任毛东辉及优秀在培创业团队代表进行了面对面交流。毛东辉老师向吉姆·罗杰斯先生讲述了清华x-lab在创新创业教育方面的发展历程及最新进展。她提到，清华x-lab的发展轨迹是一个指数增长的趋势，成立5年来，吸引了1300多支学生创新创业团队加入平台，平均每周有5-8支新增团队加入清华x-lab。吉姆·罗杰斯先生对x-lab五年的成果表示赞赏。交流会上，包括真机智能、易咖、Akkadu为代表的10支优秀在培创业团队22人与罗杰斯先生进行了亲切交流并逐一做了项目介绍，罗杰斯先生给予团队热情鼓励及宝贵反馈意见。
在交流会结尾，吉姆·罗杰斯先生做了总结性发言：“我非常惊讶、很惊喜，如果可以做到，这些都是非常非常棒的主意。并且我相信你们都会变得富有因为相信你们都会做得到。最重要也是我常常教导我女儿的一条就是一定要坚持到底，世界上有很多聪明能干的人却并不成功，唯一真正成功的人就是那些从不放弃的人。世界上有很多很多人主意非常棒，但是最终因为没有坚持都没有走向成功。唯一成功的就是几近疯狂的那些人，他们从不放弃。大家会嘲笑他们，大家会否定他们，但是那些坚持到底的人真的会获得财富。我曾在两所非常知名的大学学习，但是这两所学校的学生有很多都没有成功因为没有坚持，仅仅因为你们上名校不一定意味着你们会成功。很多名校毕业的学生会说，我在这里了，你们来找我吧！世界是不会在乎这些人的。只有不断努力去实现自己的想法，才有可能成功，世界才会回报你。在清华上学是非常令人羡慕的，但是实现不了这些想法，世界也不会在乎你的存在。如果不坚持到底，世界也不会在乎你的存在。所以坚持是最重要的。”

The most important lesson I try to teach my daughter, the single most important thing is perseverance. Many people in the world are smart but not successful, only people will become successful when you never give up. The world is full of good idea which never succeed, the only one succeed but the nuts, could just never give up. People laugh at him, even reject them, but people who never give up will get rich. I went to two very famous universities, but many people never succeed because they didn’t persevere. So just because you go to a famous University will not be rich, Many people graduate from famous universities and say to the world, ‘well, here I am’ the world doesn’t care. Only if you can implement that you can succeed, Only if you can implement, it doesn’t matter if you did not graduate from high school. If you can implement, the world will repay. Going to Tsinghua is wonderful, but if you can not execute, the world doesn’t care. If you don’t persevere, the world doesn’t care. So the most important word is perseverance.”

吉姆·罗杰斯，现代华尔街的风云人物，被誉为最富远见的国际投资家，是美国证券界最成功的实践家之一。他毕业于耶鲁大学和牛津大学，选择投资管理行业开始了自己的职业生涯。1970年和索罗斯共同创建量子基金。量子基金连续十年的年均收益率超过50%。1980年，37岁的罗杰斯从量子基金退出，他为他自己积累了数千万美元的巨大财富。1980年后，罗杰斯开始了自己的投资事业。已经成为全世界最伟大的投资家之一。

American businessman and financial commentator based in Singapore. Rogers is the Chairman of Rogers Holdings and Beeland Interests, Inc. He was the co-founder of the Quantum Fund and Soros Fund Management. He was also the creator of the Rogers International Commodities Index (RICI).
